Looking for recommendations for video baby monitors - needs to have its own screen (not to view on your phone) and not be WiFi.

would be amazing to narrow the options down before I go down the rabbit hole of looking at the hundreds on the market!

TIA

We got the VACOS from amazon on black friday and really rate it. Had a BT one with first son and it wasn’t very good.

PurplePansy05 · 26/01/2024 22:23

BT 6000 any day! Sorry but VTech doesn't compare to it, I tried both and VTech went straight back to the shop. BT has optional WiFi connection but you don't have to enable it (we haven't) - mentioning it as I know some people are put off but they don't understand how this product works. We've had it for over 18 months and I'd definitely buy it again and recommend. I made a similar thread before and it was MN that unanimously recommend ed the BT and it was a good call.

Definitely not Angelcare.

Had the old style angelcare for ds1 years ago and it was bombproof so went with same make again for DS2 but it's awful. Mainly the battery being rubbish and it constantly screaming at us to plug it in.

We have a babysense monitor that we bought from Amazon. No WiFi access, just view on a screen. We went for the one with 2 cameras and a split screen option so that we can still just use one monitor when DC2 comes along.

@nervousn3lly please could I ask which VTech you went for? There seem to be so many!! Do all of them have the ability to not enable WiFi? Thank you!

DuploTrain · 16/03/2024 07:15

@alh26
we have this cheap and cheerful VTech one. DS is nearly 3 now and still happy with it.

Bebcare low EMF baby monitor is my go-to choice. Much higher level of safety

Popping in late here, but we’ve had a good experience with the ergopouch monitor. It’s not wifi, has a standalone screen, the range around the house is strong, and the night vision is clear. I also like that it gives you a temperature readout plus suggestions for how to keep baby comfy at night.
