I am being induced in 8 days I'll be 37+5 .. I'm having twins and have been on fragmin injections since 28 weeks, saw my consultant today and she mentioned I'd need to stop taking them a few days before induction but then got talking about re checking my blood pressure as it was a bit high and never mentioned it again...I'm going to ring tomorrow to double check but does anyone have an idea as to when I should stop the injections? 🤔 also can I eat on the day? Drink? Take my other usual tablets? I didn't ask anything I was so pleased to finally know the twins were being evicted 🤣 I've never been induced before, all my other babies were 40+ so many days naturally, so all new to me, sort of hoping they come beforehand naturally but we'll see ! tia x

Hello! If that’s blood thinners they usually do this in case of the need for a c section, naturally you’ll bleed more on blood thinners so much safer to be out your system beforehand (I was on blood thinners and induced and had the same) they may ask you to take the tablet for if not breastfeeding after for 3 months again your situation may be different but going off my experience I did eat on the day but depending on how they do it (drip/pessary) and how long it takes I ate the day of induction but was having big contractions by early morning so didn’t want food anyway! Honestly I’d call and get all your questions answered in one go from them, or even the labour ward may be able to advise too
aso CONGRATULATIONS!!! Xx

Ahh right I see, I'll give them a ring tomorrow to confirm ,I got that carried away with finally having an end date all the questions popped into my head later when I realised that's it. That was my last appointment and I know nothing other than a time and date 🤣 they are going to try the balloon I think she said? It's all new to me I'm a bit worried tbh hence why I'm hoping they'll just come naturally 🫣 thanks for the response x

I had the pessary so not sure about the balloon sorry! I was quite poorly so was induced early so I was a bit too drained to pay attention myself, I did eat before the pessary and later that day. Xx

You can definitely eat and drink, I’d say do those as much as you can to get your strength and fluids up. Induced labour can be more intense so you might not fancy anything once things get going.

Good luck!
