Bleeding at 7+3 weeks

HI all,

Looking for some advice on anyone who may have gone through the same. On Saturday I was 7+3. Previously I had minor spotting, usually dark brown but very minor on Saturday from lunchtime I started bleeding. And bled until around 10pm. Not enough to fill a pad - about 1/3. There was some small clots. I went to A&E on the same day (as advised by EPU). Hcg was over 5000, examination showed cervix was closed- so Ishe said that was good as miscarrying it would be open. She couldn’t see much blood but took out the small clots. abdominal ultrasound sound showed sac but couldn’t detect heartbeat- well detected a shadow or slight flicker but she couldn’t see anything else. She couldn't be sure and said I needed the internal scan as it could be too early etc for this scan to pick up.

Sunday I bled the same amount again as Satuday slowly, not enough to fill a pad, some small clots. Didn’t bleed at night at all. Monday (yesterday) started bleeding from around 8am notice a larger clot - around 10p coin size. On wiping was a bit heavier. No larger clots after that just stringy small ones now and thenwhen I wiped and tiny ones in loo… And Monday was heavier… again not soaking a whole pad… used the same one all day… but I’d say twice as much as Saturday and Sunday. Again hardly anything on Monday night but started again this morning. So far seems similar to Monday's bleeding, although haven't seen a large clot, just tiny string when wiping like a period.

So today is my 4th day bleeding.

I have an internal scan on Thursday morning. Does blighted ovum bleed with cervix open? Blighted ovum keeps coming to mind… as on Saturday night even though I was bleeding she said cervix was nice and right… so stressed… if it was a miscarriage would it be more and heavier, if it’s a blighted ovum I think it’s meant to take longer ? But does cervix remain closed? First time pregnancy so appreciate your experiences.

I’ve been there and remember how stressful the not-knowing was. I found it agonising and would play out different scenarios in my head. You should get some clarity on Thursday. My friend had what seemed like periods early in all three of her (healthy) pregnancies, so hopefully it will be the same for you.

I knew I was at risk of a blighted ovum as a scan was showing me behind. I started bleeding just before I had a follow up scan but it was over the weekend so went to a+w. They checked my cervix and said it was closed but when I went back the next day they confirmed the miscarraige. I'm so sorry, the waiting in limbo is awful

Hi thanks for your message. Since posting this message my bleeding got heavier… not flooding or gushing through, I started getting mild cramps and I passed what I think it the sac…. A round spongy blob/ball, almost translucent . Following that the cramps have subsided mostly and I bled through a pad quickly…

now just lying down

how long did the heavy bleeding last for you?

I'm sorry you're going through that :( I had it for just over a week
