Waters possibly broken during sweep

Hi all,

So I had a sweep today at 39 weeks and the midwife said she wasn't sure if a bit of my waters had gone at the same time. She tested with a swab which was negative for my waters so have just been sent home to see what happens.

Since I've been home, I don't think I've been leaking any waters or anything and just had mild period like cramps but nothing else.

I'm just a bit worried that if my waters had gone during the sweep, even though I haven't had any other signs, will I be open to infection?

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

My community midwife is supposed to be calling me tomorrow so I'll mention it but just wondered if this had happened to anyone else.

Thank you 😊

The test was negative so I wouldn’t worry.
