I am 6 wks pregnant and do alot of walking to and from work along fairly busy roads in London (at least 1 hour every day). Should I stop walking and take the bus (about half hour every day)? Or should I just walk on less busy roads. Does anyone know whether that would that make a difference?

If you live and work in London I don't think anything would make a difference unless you are considereing (eg) moving to the Outer Hebrides or similar.

Enjoy the walk while you can as it won't be long before you're so knackered you have no choice but to get the bus.

Walk on less busy roads. At least you'll have fewer diesel fumes burped directly in you face. I live in a polluted city and cycle a lot and have found that choosing a less frequented route does make a difference.

Being on a bus / in a car is apparently worse because the air is not circulating nearly as much. I cycle and even that is better than being in a car for inhaling fumes apparently. Don't worry, 1000s of people who live in London have healthy babies..
