Bleeding during Pregnancy

I’m 8 weeks 2 days. Currently breastfeeding my 11 month old daughter. Went to first prenatal appointment last Thursday and had pap no ultrasound. Started spotting Saturday light pink called Monday they seemed to think it was from the pap. Spotting subsided and started back Tuesday evening. Called yesterday and they scheduled me to come in today. Woke up this morning with bright red when I peed. I had a miscarriage March 2022 so I went to thinking the worst. Went in today and they had me go to ultrasound. Hr 168 baby looked good. No explanation for bleeding but said that if it got heavier filling a pad in an hour to call or severe cramping. I’m a nervous wreck over worrying over baby. Any advice?

Sending hugs. I bled throughout pregnancy. The NHS were rubbish in my case, attended A&E no scan was done, nothing.

Several months in I was told by a midwife the bleeding was because of cervical ectropion. If I'd been examined earlier it would have saved a lot of worry.

Hope it's something as simple for you.

I had bleeding at 9 weeks, had a scan and baby was fine, couldn’t find any reason for the bleeding. Its worrying but everything was fine

They couldn’t give me answer as to why I am bleeding. It has really stressed me out.

Hello it could be the start of a miscarriage but could be totally fine. I've had it both ways. I've got 3 kids and have had 4 miscarriages. The last one I bled heavily including big clumps at 3 points - around 7, 9 and 12 weeks. I thought for sure he was a gonner but he was perfect and he was born in August. They said they were subchorionic hematoma. Good luck. I hope its fine.

I bled at 28 weeks with DD1 but everything was fine, was already aware I had an ectropion on my cervix due to recent colposcopies and they said the ectropion must have bled.

Am pregnant now with baby no 2, had bleeding at 9wks and assumed the worst but a scan later that day confirmed all was fine. Blood was fresh & red when I wiped over the course of a couple of hours then stopped. Bled again at 23wks, lighter than before but went to triage and again heartbeat, movement etc all ok. Dr examined me couldn't see the ectropion this time, but said it's not always easy that early until the cervix moves. They come and go with hormonal changes.

So I have bled in 2 pregnancies, and every time been ok, and a known ectropion in at least one of them. Hoping this provides even a little reassurance.

Keeping everything crossed for you xx
