12 weeks thick/stringy mucus

I’ve been to the loo and noticed when I wiped a thick long stringy mucus came out - it was cream coloured and no smell. But I’m so scared it’s my mucus plug and might be a sign something is wrong? Has anyone had this before? I’ve never ever seen this.

Sounds normal, pregnancy discharge can vary quite a bit throughout. Your plug isn’t stringy it’s like thick snot, also your plug can come away and regenerate

Thank you for the reassurance - it was snot like, not wet or mushy but thick. Hard to describe the texture but snot is a good comparison.
I did take a picture but don’t want to TMI anyone. For 12 weeks I’m worried it was a big loss to the mucus plug I would say like maybe a bit more than a tea spoon.
i also had sex the night before so not sure if that impacts it as google seems like find that more discharge can be formed by it.

I wish there were a handbook for all of this!

Discharge really varies the whole way through pregnancy.

currently pregnant with my 3rd. I had a big stringy bit the other week, some days I have to wear a liner because it’s quite runny and heavy, some days nothing. This was also the same through my previous 2, along with times where it would turn a yellow or greenish colour. All was fine, never had any infection etc. your hormones are on a rollercoaster for 40 weeks and I think unless it’s bloody, smelly or you are sore/itchy with it then it’s nothing to worry about x

I have had similar aswell as clear fluid like discharge, some days it's nothing some days a fair bit. I have to wear a panty liner every day. Currently 18 weeks and had scan last week with no issues. As long as not bleeding or in pain I wouldn't worry. Just fyi I also had brown discharge from 8-13 weeks again apparently totally normal.
