I lived in a four storey house when I planned my homebirths. As it was an old house the only floor I could have the pool was on the lowest floor. The loo was on the second floor. I had a bucket on each floor. I cushioned the edge with some pipe lagging from B&Q. First time I got transferred before use, second time never used them either, but was glad they were there.

In the end I gave birth to my DS2 on the second floor after going for a lie-down part way through and the first floor bucket was very hastily used to catch the baby as the MW had failed to materialise.
