I’ve had raw salmon and cold rice without realising I was pregnant

Hi, I’m looking for some advice/reassurance please. I had a raw salmon poke bowl yesterday, sold in a supermarket. It contained raw salmon and cooked white rice, albeit chilled.

I’ve found out today that I’m pregnant; the line is quite strong so I think I’m over 4 weeks. I’ve googled like mad and apparently salmon is the one fish that doesn’t need to be flash frozen before it’s sold Sad Freezing is what kills the bacteria. Also I have checked the packaging and it doesn’t say it was previously frozen.

I’ve done searches on here and although listeria is apparently so rare, there are sadly multiple posters on here who have either miscarried a baby because of listeria, or know someone who has.

I’m so upset. I’m gutted. Can anyone advise please?

I really wouldn't worry. When pregnant with my first baby, I got very drunk at a wedding reception (had no idea I was pregnant) and ate copious quantities of (luke warm) pate, salmon rolls, various types of soft cheese - basically the entire list of banned foods. I found out I was pregnant two days after the wedding and nearly had a nervous breakdown about the pate in particular - but my midwife assured me that adverse affects are really very rare, and lo and behold my son was born no issues whatsoever although he is very fond of both salmon and pate!!!

Try not to worry I am sure you will be fine - clean supermarket food beats a day old buffet I'm sure 😂I don't know anyone who hasn't done this by mistake.

Salmon poke bowl was my most bought meal deal item of 2023 and I was pregnant for 9 of those months
