Strep B - 33 weeks

Hi all,

Ive had about 4 water infections since being pregnant, im now 33 weeks and have just had the lab results back from my current UTI and I have Strep B. I’m currently on antibiotics for this infection but I was wondering, will these antibiotics get rid of the strep B? Or do they just cure the UTI but the strep B stays with me?
I’ve read up on what I’ll have to do during labour and when the baby arrives etc.
thanks 😊

Hey, obviously everyone is different but when GBS is in your urine, you're usually 'colonised' with it so it wouldn't be gone after the course of antibiotics. It's a very normal bacteria for adults to carry and it's transient so comes and goes all the time. If it wasn't found on a follow up sample, it could still come back in a few weeks. Hope that's helpful
