early viability scan

I went for an early scan at what I thought was 5+4 (NHS one to rule out ectopic).

They found the gestational sac and yolk sac in the right place, but no fetal pole. They asked if I was certain of dates. LMP would put me at 5+4 but have a 30 day cycle. Sonographer said I must have got the dates wrong but I've not and now very worried.

They've asked me to come back in 2 weeks.

Has anyone been through this and did you get good news?

I also have no symptoms at all. My boobs were hurting last week but that's gone now.

I had this with, I was absolutely certain I should have been 6 weeks but no fetal pole. I was told to go back 2 weeks later, and in our case we could then see the baby but was still measuring a week behind. I sat and worked it out and just couldn't see how it was possible. Fast for forward to 12 week scan... we had it at 13 weeks and baby was measuring bang on so I had been right all along! Not sure if she was just slow to grow in those first 12 weeks. Sending you lots of luck ✨️

What a strange thing for them to say, it’s very normal not to see a fetal pole yet. I think it’s usually visible from 5 and half to 6 and half weeks but can vary. Most places won’t scan you until at least 6 weeks as you often don’t see much before that.
