Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone can help.

I have a little girl (age 5) who was born by emergency c section, after full dilation.

Since then, I last year had a late loss at 19 weeks.

I am now pregnant again and under consultant care. In my previous loss, I had a debrief and a plan was put in place if i fell pregnant again. I am now on lots of medication and under going regular scans. The most recent, shows my c section scar is through my cervix but whilst it isnt causing issues now, it could. A stitch was discussed. My consultant is going for a second opinion and we are meeting again next week.

I always knew a stitch maybe an option but would love to hear from people who are familiar with this.

what type of stitch did you have? How was the procedure, does it hurt? What type of stitch did you get. Any information, advice, knowledge would really help me.

I dont have facebook so cant follow the incompetent cervix group. Sorry for the story! Thanks in advance x

@LM88 im so sorry to read about you’re loss last year❤️ and congratulations on this new pregnancy xx
I currently have the stitch in (I believe it’s called a McDonald stitch) I had it placed just before 16 weeks and will have it out in just over a weeks time (almost 37 weeks). Getting the stitch put in wasn’t painful, you are in surgery and have an epidural/ spinal in so u feel nothing and it’s over quite quick (maybe 10/15 mins) recovery is prob different for everyone, online it says 10 days to 2 weeks but I would say I was up and about as normal after 4/5 days. U prob know this already but u can’t swim, gym, run etc.. with it in. I was told to not even walk fast. U also can’t stand or sit for too long so need to constantly change ur positions 🙈 but u do get used to it and time has gone in quick enough when I look back now.

I found it so hard to find any info on this before I had mine put in so please ask away on anything ur worried about x
