Is there any problem with coming into contact with chickenpox whilst pregnant?

I am 12 weeks, and just discovered that a child we saw at toddler group last week now has it.

I had it as a child, and dd (and dh) had it at the start of this year.

Is it dangerous to come across during pregnancy, and do I need to tell anyone/do anything? Have a vague feeling that it's only a problem in the last few weeks of pregnancy, but don't know where I heard this.

Can anyone advise?

If you've had it you should be ok. If you haven't had it then you need to talk to your GP if you are in the first trimester or right before birth as it can cause problems in either case. So all round - you're fine

If you've had it you should be fine as you're immune. I'm a teacher and we had chicken pox in my school. My mum didn't know if I'd had it as a child and I had to have a blood test to confirm my immunity. I had the antibodies in my blood and the doc said there was nothing to worry about. If you haven't had it apparently there is some kind of treatment, but it has to be administered fairly swiftly after your exposure (within 10 days I think).
