I've been into be assessed today as I have intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy and my bile acids have shot back up, I'm currently 37+6 weeks pregnant and my induction is coming up. Dr examined me today and to give me my 2nd membrane sweep, she said there's basically nothing left to sweep my mucus plug is gone, I'm 4 cm dilated and I'm effaced, the issue is I'm not having any contractions. She wouldn't break my waters as they had nowhere to put me because they were so busy so sent me home to basically wait ..but what now?? No contractions waters fully intact I could be stuck like this for ages. Any recommendations? Thank you

Did they check that you weren't having contractions that you just can't feel?

Hi yes they did at the time but since then I'm back in due to a small blood loss and my contractions are now showing frequent but I'm still not feeling them I'm only feeling back pain and pressure

If I were you I'd be very happy if I couldn't feel my contractions! Hopefully you get to 10cm and don't feel a thing. Best of luck!!

Get the oxytocin flowing, that’s the hormone that kicks off labour! Bath, candles, physical touch, lovely moisturiser, picture the moment you will hold your baby in your arms, whatever makes you feel nice! Good luck!
