Thermocare Pads from Boots are they safe??

Hi,

I am currently suffering with really bad back ache and have read in 1 pregnancy book that 1 woman used Thermocare(pads that heat up on back, that strap round body)from boots , but it says on back of packet to check with doctor/pharmasist if pregnant? checked with pharmacist and midwife today and both dont know? can any1 help?

Hello, you have my sympathy. Have long standing back problem myself which (quite amazingly) hasn't deteriorated too much (Yet!). Now 29 weeks & can no longer have the intense physio I had B4 & of course no drugs. My poor, but honest pharamacist is sick of the sight of me, but he, midwife & Doc agree the heat pads are safe, but useless. Used them before pregnancy & don't heat up that much. I have gained much relief on the bad days from warm baths, hot water bottles & cushions. MW should be able to advise/refer you for a back support if the pain persists. Hope you feel better soon.
