High TSH (anyone else?)

Hi Everyone,

So I an 17 weeks pregnant and the whole pregnancy I have been having my TSH levels checked....

At 5 weeks it was 4.8 (then started on levothyroxine 25mg)
At 9 weeks TSH was 4.6 (then went to 50mg levothyroxine)
At around 11 weeks I went to 75mg levothyroxine as I met the endocrinologist.
At 15 weeks blood test showed TSH at 4.6 (I only got these results today!)

It just doesn't seem to be coming down! I have endo appointments in 2 weeks and I was going to up my dose myself to 100mg until then.

I guess my question is, has anyone else had a high TSH and things be 'okay'?
Or even any experience of high TSH at all?

Online searching tells me I am at risk of miscarriage, low birth weight, still birth etc but I was wondering if there was anyone that has been in a similar position and their experience?

@allatonce99 hiya hope you don’t mind me messaging these months later. How are you getting on? I have similar tsh to you and almost 5 weeks. So worried

Hiya,
No problem at all :)

I am now 32 weeks and I have a phone call/appt with my endo every 6 weeks or so and have a blood test every 4 weeks.
I am now on 100mg of levothyroxine and my last bloods had by TSH at around 1.9 which is what they are happy with.

I would say I have been on the 100mg for months now, maybe since 12 weeks but I can't really remember.

I haven't had baby yet but everything seems to be going along fine 😊

Ahh wow that’s so good to hear! And thanks so much for replying!!
Congratulations 😊 all I can read on here is negative stories and it’s sending me into a spiral of panic 🙈 but it’s definitely reassuring to hear your story with your results being close to mine!
do you know if you have had your antibodies tested at all? Mine were 600 when I had them tested this time last year which is crazy!
currently on 100mg/75mg on alternate days so similar to yourself🤞🏼

I don't think I have had any antibodies tested, that I know of!
The Endo doesn't seem concerned and, to be fair, he hasn't really been at all the whole pregnancy.
Just keep taking the levothyroxine and hopefully you will be okay :)
