Getting pregnant after CGIN - please tell me your positive stories

Hi, 3 months ago I went for a colposcopy as my smear came back abnormal. The biopsy showed CIN1 but it was inconclusive so I had to go back. I went back yesterday and had another biopsy and the colposcopist said it looked like I also had moderate cell changes inside my cervical canal. I am now waiting for the biopsy results but it sounds like I have CGIN.

Has anyone had this and got successful stories they could share? Me and my partner were TTC and now I’m terrified the CGIN will be hard to clear, or I’ll have to have multiple treatmentsand or end up having to have a hysterectomy. Any stories at all!!! Thank you xx

Anyone? It’s so rare it’s scaring me :(

Don't really know if this helps, but I am currently 11 weeks pregnant with CIN 2 and HPV 16.

I got the abnormal result back when I was already pregnant, so they can't remove the cells now until I've had the baby.

Praying it doesn't become worse! But it didn't affect my ability to get pregnant.

Wishing you the best!

Hello,

I got pregnant with CIN3 pre cancerous cells - it was pretty worrying but nothing they could do. I had them removed after birth via a LLETZ and luckily it was still CIN3 by this point.

6 months later I was all clear and fell pregnant again. My cervix was weak from the procedure, so I did need a stitch to help.

Slightly different situation but happy to answer any questions x

Thank you both for replying. I can imagine it’s a scary time having abnormal cells with pregnancy!

I’ve had a bad few days, non stop crying when I google CGIN and how it is much more likely to be cancer. Having a hysterectomy would break me knowing I couldn’t have children. I wonder if they would let me try for a baby and remove it after. Let’s see what the results bring. Just so confused and so much running through my mind. I feel really depressed x

Really hope things go okay for you, and so sorry to hear that this is a distressing time. Will be thinking of you!

Stress how much you want a baby, there is probably a lot more they can do before offering a hysterectomy. Really hope you are okay! X
