How far in advance did you receive your appointment letter for your 12 weeks scan? Anxiously waiting for mine, but nothing so far

Where I am. Once I had my booking appointment with my midwife at 8 weeks she gave me the number to ring and I booked my own. Letter came afew days after I booked it.

I got mine a week or two before x

I’m in the same position. I had my booking/bloods appointment really early at about six weeks (mid Dec) and I have another midwife appointment booked in for end of Jan (when I’ll be 11-12 weeks) which I think is to take history. They said when they confirmed the first two appointments (a month ago) that I’d receive a letter with my scan date but nothing so far and getting twitchy about it! I’m in the East (Essex). Hope yours come through soon. Reassuring that a poster above has said she received it a week or two in advance.

Hi
with mine they told me I’d get a letter but I didn’t so I rang and the appointment had been booked but no letter sent. I’d just give them a call.

I would second giving them a call I had to ring twice, the 1st time the midwife had forgotten to take the form in (no idea why it's still paper and not digital!) The 2nd time they had booked me in but hadnt sent the letter, I finally received it 2 days after my scan, the post date was the same day as the scan. You may also be able to change the date/time over the phone if needed. They didn't mind me calling at all and were really helpful I think they are just massively busy.

Laurenn86 · 10/01/2024 19:32

Thanks all. I'll give them a call tomorrow I think, as I would expect to have the scan anytime from now really

Yes definitely call them just in case something has missed. That way they’ll get you booked in if it has been!

MoonIightDreamer · 11/01/2024 01:05

I didn't get a letter. I literally got a call from midwife 3 hours beforehand asking me to come in

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 11/01/2024 13:34

I got the appointment through a couple of weeks before.

Be aware that it isn't technically a "12 week scan", it's a dating and NT measurement scan that can happen anytime up to 14 weeks. If your trust is busy, it will likely be closer to 14 weeks than 12.

How far along are you now? Probably worth contacting them to make sure you haven't fallen through the cracks.

Sunshineclouds11 · 11/01/2024 13:38

No letter, I ended up ringing couple days before I turned 12 weeks and they booked me in for 14 weeks

DoloresOnTheDottedLine · 11/01/2024 15:44

This thread inspired me to call and check - a scan was booked and letter apparently sent a couple of weeks ago (although the lady said “we’ve had some problems with our letters” - whatever that means!). At least I know now! Hope you got through to someone sensible @Laurenn86 and are all sorted now.
