Period after miscarriage

Hi.

Just after some advice, unfortunately we lost our baby boy 26th October very late miscarriage at 20 weeks. I had my first period on the 5th Dec about 5& half weeks after.
It was quite a heavy period but did only last 3 days.
I'm now sat her a week late normally my periods are around 28 days and I'm day 36.
I track my periods on Flo and last week when I was due on, I had cramping on and off and light spotting but only on wiping and it was brown, i was really certain my period was going to arrive but where we are a week later and nothing at all. Im wondering can periods take a while to go back to normally after a miscarriage? Especially after a late one. :(

I’m so sorry for your loss.

I’ve had miscarriages (and also IVF) and I found the up-and-down hormone levels played havoc with my cycle — both heavier and much lighter, and also early/late. It can take more than one cycle for everything to settle down again, but it will do soon.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's such a tough time, having to deal with all the emotions and ups and down and then waiting for a period. :( I'm hoping things will sort themself out soon, I feel like my body is all over the place.

Sorry to hear of your loss. My periods were all over the place after my MC so unless you have been TTC and could be pregnant I wouldn't worry about it and just let my body balance itself out.

Hello, I’m sorry for your loss of your lovely baby boy , I miscarried at 18 half weeks early november and then didn’t come on till 7 weeks after having my baby girl, had a 5 day period from the 31st December and now expected to come on roughly 6 days ago? Just wondering if your periods have regulated now?

does anyone know how long they take to regulate

So I had my first proper period after losing our boy on the 26th October on the 5th December I then went until 27th Jan until I came on. I had slight spotting when I was originally due to come on but then nothing until 27th Jan so 7& half weeks of no period. I'm really hoping that now my cycles will go back to normal. I'm day 8 on my cycle now and hoping for my 28/30 day cycle back not a 53 day cycle like before. 😏 xx

okay then i could be waiting a few weeks as yet then..
fingers crossed they’ll go back to normal next month
