Positive Induction Stories?

Hi all,
I am being induced on Friday at 39+3 weeks due to multiple instances of reduced movements and all I have heard about inductions is horror stories resulting in emergency c-sections and all round painful experiences.
Has anybody got any positive stories they can share with a very scared first time mum?
Thank you 😌

I had an induction due to reduced growth and it went smoothly.

I had the pessary around midday, contractions started around midnight and my waters broke around 4.30am. My DS was born at 6am so the whole thing was super speedy!

I was expecting it to take days and was very nervous about it, but it all went well.

Good luck for your induction!

I think it depends how you are induced. The drip is meant to be quite horrid (I had that) and makes things more intense than natural labour.
There are other ways of being induced that may be better.
Just like with any labour, if you go into it feeling anxious etc then it makes it harder. I know it’s difficult not to worry but try to practice breathing techniques to keep you calm and relaxed as that will make everything easier in general.
Check out what pain relief you can have. Make sure you’re informed on the types of induction you’ll be offered etc. Knowledge is power.
And remember, labour isn’t pleasant for a few hours, but it’s worth it for your baby :)
Good luck!

Hi, I had my baby 5 weeks ago and had no idea what to expect. I wanted what most want, a water birth in a nice birth centre, anyway little man didn’t want to come and needed a push. I had a sweep at 40 plus 10 and then induction (pessary) at 40 plus 13. I was in early labour from the sweep, was 3cm when pessary was inserted and that was at 2pm, got to about 9/10pm and active labour was rapid less than 2.5 hours recorded too fast for much pain relief!

I was threatened with forceps because the heart rate had slowed down of the baby but as soon as I heard forceps I pushed like I hadn’t before! I was given a small cut and was stitched up it was uncomfortable but gas and air helped with that. Had quite a big bleed so needed some fluids and help with uterus contracting. The recovery wasn’t bad at all, I’d say 3 weeks I felt pretty normal down there, if they give you stitches ask for an ibuprofen suppository up your bum, it did wonders 😂 couldn’t feel a thing down there all day afterwards!

I like you was petrified about emergency c sections and luckily my midwife talked me out of having a planned one as the birth was easy to recover from!
