Today has been confirmed that I’m having a missed miscarriage. I’m suppose to be 9 weeks 3 days. Baby measuring 8 weeks 2 days and no heartbeat. Bleeding has started but only lightly and mild cramps. Tomorrow I have another appointment to talk about what I will choose to do to pass the baby
naturally
with the tablet
or surgically
what should I choose? I’m heartbroken and a complete mess. Is the tablet really painful and will I see the tiny baby? ☹️

I'm really sorry about what you're going through.

I had a missed miscarriage early last year, and chose the medical option. It took two rounds of it though and dragged it over six weeks. At one point near the end there was enough tissue still left in my uterus to possibly need surgical intervention but luckily it passed. I wish I had gone for the surgical option as then it would have been over quickly, but everything is clearer in hindsight. The pain was really bad period cramps, I was also really cold (but that may have been shock or from losing blood).

I'm afraid mine was an anembryonic pregnancy (blighted ovum) so I can't say what you would see if you chose the natural or medical route.

Take care and try and make sure whichever option you choose, that you feel it is right for you and you get support x

Thank you for replying my love. I’m sorry that you went through that. I think the surgical option is best then, I just want it over with!
might sound silly but I want to try again as soon as possible x

I’m so sorry…I chose surgical management under GA, would do so again. From the point I woke up, I only felt very light cramps (less than period cramps) and was home 1 hour later.

I am terribly sorry for your loss. Same happened to me in November 2022. I chose the surgical option, I don't remember anything, I healed just fine, relatively quick. Best of luck, OP!
