Do I need a full bladder or empty bladder?

Go with a full bladder and then you can always go and have a wee if you need an empty bladder Smile bit trickier to do it the other way round!

I also went with a full bladder which was too full so I had to empty a bit. Only one baby though.

Nearly pissed myself every scan last pregnancy, and now this one my midwife told me 'just drink a bit if you can but if you have to go then go, we just need some liquid in there if possible'. And I had a scan at 7 weeks on an empty bladder (not even vaginal!) and no one commented at all!

So I don't know, I am not a medical professional, and you should take their advice, not mine. But yeah I am not going to be bursting for every scan any more, nope.

I asked and was told it didn’t matter unless you have high BMI!

They told me my bladder wasn't full enough.

We had a bit of a nightmare with ours, kept waiting an hour after appointment time and had to have a wee before I went in so sonographer after scanning briefly said I'd need to go and have a drink and he'd call me back in 20 mins. Chugged a litre of water whilst walking and jigging around as baby was in wrong position 20 mins was actually over an hour so I was bursting by the time I went back in, bladder was too full apparently so I had to empty it. Back to square one! Went back a week later with a not full but not completely empty bladder and they managed to get measurements. So in summary I think somewhere in between is probably ideal.
