Hcg hasn't doubled

Can someone please help.

I had my HCG levels checked on the 4th and they were at 793 (4 weeks 4 days).
They were taken again on the 6th and they were 1359 (4 weeks 6 days).

Nurse on the phone has told me it is increasing normally and I need to come in tomorrow (8th) for another test.

Should I be worried? I thought it needed to double? Shouldn’t there be a bigger rise?

My anxiety’s now through the roof.

If the midwife said it’s fine then please listen to the medical professional. HCG doubling doesn’t need to be to the exact number. Good luck with the test tomorrow but sounds like everything is going well so far!

My hcg didn’t double but was within the right range. I went in for a third blood test just to make sure it was still increasing but the midwife said it was just a technicality and she was okay with the results as they signified early pregnancy- 4-5 weeks.

If the midwife isn’t concerned then try not to worry! Not all hcg doubles straight away, especially not always in early pregnancy.

Increase by at least 60% is what I remember, because they should double every 2-3 days.

Listen to he midwife.

I know I should listen to her but I just want to prepare myself for the worst and not get hopes up if it's not going to happen.

My second HCG rose 68% over 48 hours, it’s meant to double 48/72 hours so was within the range. Admittedly I did completely freak out but was assured all ok was.
Now 28 weeks pregnant.

It's such early days. Just do whatever you can to keep busy. Best of luck!

@coffeeandcake91 as above mine rose 68% in 48 hours and was told this was well within range. I did completely freak and and expected the worse especially having a loss before , now I have a beautiful baby boy who is 7 weeks old today.
I think this is a good increase.
How far gone are you?

What’s the percentage increase over 72 hrs not 48? People assume it should double over 48 hours but I was told it’s in fact 48/72 hours.
When I was testing my HCG I’m sure the percentage increase needed to be above 53%, I can’t remember the exact percentage I was told but remember panicking as mine wasn’t too far off it. I even called my partner and told him to expect the worse as I was adamant the levels were too low.
Unfortunately the only way you will know is to wait and see what the next reading gives.
I know this doesn’t help you at all and the wait until Friday is going to be a killer, I completely feel you.
I remember reading forums where some people’s reading were way above mine at the same stage and I mean thousands higher!
Everyone/pregnancy is different. You are still within overall range this is probably why your clinic isn’t too concerned at this point xx

@HNewLeaf i would personally say that reading is really good but I’m no expert.
I feel so much for you as I know how hard the journey can be. Please don’t be disheartened as all might be ok tomorrow when your retested.
IVF was a long brutal journey for us but we finally got our happy ending. It took us 4 attempts and every failed one was pure heartache. We suffered a loss too which was devastating but what I was told which did give me a glimmer of hope is that I did get pregnant so that was half the battle, this is the same with you.
I really do hope you have your happy ending and tomorrow will be fine. That being the case it doesn’t get easier, I panicked and stressed about every single thing. I didn’t actually start enjoying my pregnancy until I was 6 months pregnant and I was still a nervous wreck.
Never give up hope, miracles do happen x

@HNewLeaf im glad to hear all is looking good for you. Google was my worst enemy when I was pregnant. I had 4 scans before my 12 week one as I was so anxious about it.
Ill keep everything crossed for you x
