Hi, I've been to my consultant appointment today as ive been having regular growth scans, baby is measuring on the smaller side and soni have been booked for an induction at 39 weeks, the consultant handed me a letter and said hand that to reception, which I did, they just replied with thanks see you later. So I have no clue what happens now, will I receive an appointment, will i just get a phone call at 39 weeks, I have no idea what to expect. Any advice would be great, I don't see my midwife for another two weeks, so I can't even ask her without having to ring the community base and go through all the channels of being passed pillar to post.

I was told to turn up 39 weeks and that I would be booked in, I turned up and they had no record of me being booked in and had to mess about trying to speak to a doctor then moving some things around to get me a bed, so would definitely contact your midwife to check on the process

I had a phone call a day or two later with an appointment to start the process.

Do you mean you're not sure what's involved in the induction process itself?

LadyHill90 · 05/01/2024 21:39

Oh gosh, that sounds a nightmare, I'll give them a ring tomorrow, to check. I've not heard anything today but thought I should give it a couple days.

Whataretheodds, hi, no I understand the process of induction, she did explain all that, it's literally being booked in, the consultant said hand this letter to reception, as I did, they just said thanks, see you later, so I wasn't sure if they call you on the day, if they book you in and send you an appointment or what. I had to hand in a piece of paper to reception to book a 38 week scan, then the consultant took her similar piece of paper and booked the induction.

I got a letter for the scan and heard nothing about the induction. I had to ask at my community midwife appointment when it was instead.

Id ring up just to ask if it’s been booked. At my trust they ring you on the day to let you know if there’s space to come in so you can’t just turn up.

Thank you, I'm going to call today, just to ask for a little more info. It's still 2 weeks away, I just had no clue if I had to do anything or not. X
