did you book a private room - been told it is £35 a night refundable if no space. Is it worth it or did you stick it out on a ward?

Thanks

Ward - but there were only 4 well spaced beds - and it was fine (except that the whole place is far too hot...), and I didn't feel a lack of privacy or too much noise. This was 6 years ago though.

Are we talking about Forth Park, Kirkcaldy? My midwife told me that she thought the rooms were more like £70 per night! Would be great if they're that much less.

How do you book them? Any idea how many there are (ie likelihood of being able to have one)?

Like A said there are only 4 beds on the ward and they're not always full. I've had 3 babies at forth park, went home after 6 hours with no. 3 but stayed in for 3 nights with ds1 and 4 nights with ds2. I have to say I always found it quite nice having people to talk to. Visiting hours for everyone except partners are only 3-4 and 7-8 so not too intrusive.

Good luck! All my labours there (the last only 5 weeks ago) have been really good experiences. The midwifes are fantastic.
