600 micrograms of folic acid?

We are looking to start TTC later in the year - I'm just wondering if 600 micrograms of folic acid is too much?

The NHS website recommends 400 micrograms (which I have purchased in tablet form) however I already take a multivitamin which contains 200 micrograms.

Would it be okay for me to take both or would it be worth me stopping the multivitamin once we start trying?

Thanks in advance and sorry if it's a silly question.

Yes it's fine to take 600micrograms, but you should switch to a pregnancy vitamin as soon as you miss a period/have a positive test, as normal multivits contains too much Vitamin A to be safe in pregnancy.
Good luck in your TTC!

I took 5mg folic acid while trying to cony prescribed by consultant no reason for I wasn't low In Folic acid seems to be something fertility clinic prescribe to ensure you are getting enough i switched to a pregnancy multivitamin once I got my BFP.
