Darker test line

Hi all,

I did a pregnancy test on Tuesday which was positive. I’ve done another today, just because, and the test line is darker than the control line… is this normal?

I’m not thinking it’s a false positive or anything, I’m just wondering?

I already have twins, so I’m not convinced it’s that I’m having more. Maybe because I miscarried in October and my body was ready for pregnancy? I don’t know, I just think it’s interesting. 😊

Pretty sure the darkness of the second line changes depending on how much HCG the test can detect, which increases/darkens the further along you get as baby is growing/hormones increase.
So if you do an early test when you're only just late with your period the second line will be lighter, but the further along you go the darker the second line will get. HCG is also strongest in your first wee of the day, so might be darker testing first thing than your last wee of the day.

I've peed on a LOT of sticks - had 2 MC before my DD and now 6weeks pregnant so find seeing the line getting darker a comfort. Congratulations and hope your little one continues baking nicely 😊

If your test line is darker than the control line its known as a dye stealer which means the pregnancy is progressing nicely congrats
