Postpartum problems

I’m almost 7 weeks postpartum, forceps delivery and 53 hour labour. Today, I was checking on my episiotomy scar just make sure everything was in check, been told to do perineal massage so was just having a look at the situation… Anyway, my whole “downstairs” is a mess. It looks like it’s all going to fall out, my urethral hole is massive, like the size of the tip of my pinky finger. It kind of looks like the top wall of my vagina has fallen down?? It just doesn’t look the same to me at all. This can’t be normal, can it?? I’ll be absolutely devastated if I have to deal with some sort of prolapse too after all the issues I’ve had during pregnancy (HG, PGP, PPROM, preeclampsia, preterm delivery). I’ve only started doing kegels recently because I was too sore before. Please tell me it’s gonna go back to normal at some point. I have a physio appointment beginning of January and they offer an internal exam for pelvic floor muscles. I guess what I’m asking is has this happened to anyone else?? I’m absolutely horrified.

Try to relax, you've only given birth 7 weeks ago and your body will need more time to recover. If you're concerned it's always worth calling your GP or someone and have a doctor have a look if there are any abnormalities. I'm sorry to hear about your traumatic birthing experience

Thanks for your reply.

I guess I’m just really anxious about more things going wrong. I know that I’m still early on in postpartum recovery. I’ll definitely get my physio to check things out for me. I have my 8 week check with my GP the day before my physio app too so I can ask them as well.
