Has anyone taken malarone or any other anti malarials whilst pregnant?

Hi everyone
I'm absolutely terrified.
I'm going to Africa tomorrow for 2 weeks to see my partners family. We had unprotected sex during my ovulation and now in the two week wait. We planned to wait until after the trip but stupidly in the heat of the moment did it and now there's a possibility I could get pregnant this cycle and im meant to start taking the medication today. The risk of malaria to a developing fetus could be fatal and the risk of this medication is unknown as there hasn't been enough testing done on pregnant woman.

Has anyone taken anti malarials whilst pregnant and been okay?
Just so so scared.

Hi i haven’t but I did have a similar situation earlier in the year. We were going on our honeymoon to Zanzibar and had to take malaria tablets so we’re told not to try for a baby until 3 weeks after we take our malaria tablets have ended. We were taking malrone however we had a very fun wedding night and next day. It was so stressed and thought I was pregnant that we almost never went the honeymoon. We reached out to a family friend who is a doctor and said go our honeymoon enjoy yourself, There are many things you shouldn’t do but will probably do in your two week wait ie drink alcohol etc as you cannot put your life on hold. He advised to cover up at night, use sprays. Turns out I wasn't pregnant but we just had the best time! I know it’s hard not to worry but try not to xx

Not quite the same but I ovulated the day before I stopped taking malarone and got pregnant; baby is happy and healthy despite being told not to TTC for three to four weeks after stopping taking the tablets.
