Can someone please help me with the below and what I should expect?

My last period started on 17th November. I missed my most recent period. Took a pregnancy test on 23rd December which was slightly darker than the test I took this evening. The photo below is my test from this evening. Unfortunately I didn’t take a photograph of my previous test to compare.

I suppose with this positive test and based on my last period, this makes me 5+5 weeks pregnant so very early days. Are my calculations correct?

We are not trying for a baby and whatever the outcome, I’m fine. First pregnancy. I’m just a little confused. My test on 23.11 was ever so slightly stronger than this. Could it be a possible chemical pregnancy? Should my test at this stage be stronger?

No other symptoms aside from sore boobs.

I'd expect that to be much stronger at 5+5. I've no experience with chemicals or early losses. Could you get one of the clear blue ones which estimate how many weeks you are? Or check with your gp for bloods?

I thought it would be stronger too!

I’ve had no bleeding.

I will try and get my hands on a clear blue tomorrow.

Definitely positive! I bought some cheap tests similar to these off Amazon and found the lines were really light which had me a bit worried, but when I did a FRER I had the darkest line! Maybe try a different brand too if it helps put your mind at ease

I wouldn't say lines have to be dark the more far along you are. I've had 4 kids and was never darker or lighter depending on how far along. A line is a line and only means 1 thing! 🎁💙🩷

When I had my chemical the line stayed the same for days (very light) and started to faint eventually.
For nearly 6 weeks I would expect stronger lines. Maybe try a different pregnancy test?

This was mine line with my chemical pregnancy. The digital gave me a positive still...
