A lot of lumps and areolas are swollen

Hi everyone,

Sadly I have had a missed miscarriage. I went into hospital due to loss of blood and was on fluids, I’m now back home thankfully but I’m very concerned about my breast changes.

Mainly because my mum and nana both passed due to breast cancer - inside my breasts there are a lot of lumps and both my nipple and nipple area are swollen. They are not sore anymore but it’s a growing concern for me as when I have googled it nothing really comes up.

Just seeking a little comfort if this is normal as it’s now the Christmas period and no doctors are open for me to get them checked.

Thank you.

Hi op, sorry you're feeling stressed and about your missed miscarriage Flowers the swelling of your breasts and areolas could still be down to hormones from your pregnancy depending on how long ago it was. The lumps, are they inside as in when you do a self check? If so that could just be normal for you. I've been to the breast clinic four times for various things and have been told I have dense breasts so now I'm used to the various lumps

Sorry about your miscarriage OP

If the changes are within both breasts I wouldn't worry. If it's just the one breast then it's probably hormonal but best to get it checked out.
