Hello lovely ladies
Looking for some success stories and advise.

I am 5+5 today and this is my second pregnancy at 37 age. First one ended with miscarriage(5th week) in the month of June.

I have been to EPU throughout this week for blood tests and scans due to bleeding and my blood test are as follows:
Monday 18th - HCG 640 and Progesterone 26
Wednesday 20th - HCG 1333
Friday 22nd - HCG 2999
Saturday 23rd - HCG 4339 and Progesterone 37

It started with brown discharge on 17th and then in roughly 2 days fresh red blood with some small clots. Bleeding has been less that periods and very mild pain. Today my bleeding has almost stopped, it's only when I wipe in morning. My boobs feel less sore.

I have been scanned for 4 times this week and they couldn't find anything- no free fluid, no swelling etc. tubes as well as womb. They have discussed laparoscopy and methotrexate options. I genuinely have no pain now. My next scan is booked on Tuesday. I have read few stories which has positive outcomes plus few ended with some negative too.
I am confused and super anxious. I am hopeful that they see some pregnancy signs in the womb in next scan. My instincts says my little bean is at the right place 🫶.

Has anyone had any similar experience? Thank you for reading and your response in advance ❤️

Have they considered prescribing progesterone? Your levels are low

Muffin4455 · 24/12/2023 11:37

@JandL2020 Hey, thank you for your response.
No not yet. Till the time they don't see any pregnancy in the womb they won't put me on progesterone they said.

@Muffin4455 i see. Similar happened to me they wouldn’t prescribe.

Muffin4455 · 24/12/2023 16:57

@JandL2020 Ah ! If you don't mind me asking, how did it end up? Were your HCG & Progesterone in similar range? I hope all ok.

@Muffin4455 it was an ectopic sadly. I hope it’s a different outcome for you x

Ohthisisimpossible · 24/12/2023 19:19

Unfortunately sounds like an ectopic to me - my results were the same.

Muffin4455 · 24/12/2023 19:27

@JandL2020 @Ohthisisimpossible so sorry to hear that...I hope all good now.

I have to make a decision by Tuesday regarding laparoscopy and MTX so bit concerned as doctor wasn't convinced for ectopic via scan. Hoping some miracle in my next scan.
And equally anxious that I am not risking my health if ectopic !

I also think it could be ectopic, my levels were doubling and I had brown watery bleeding. I then also ended up with shooting pains from my pelvis down my leg, scans were showing nothing at all. And then by the time I should have been 9 weeks I was in a horrendous amount of pain as it had ruptured.

Please keep an eye on your symptoms, Flowers

Muffin4455 · 24/12/2023 19:54

@hartof Sorry to hear that...I hope you recovered well.
I will be 6 weeks next week Wednesday so by that time will make the decision. As of now no symptoms but will run to A&E if things changes.

Ectopics (to my knowledge) can’t be seen on scan

JandL2020 · 24/12/2023 21:59

@Muffin4455 they will still need to locate the pregnancy regardless. My levels went beyond 3000 hcg so I had a laparoscopy. Mine was really difficult to locate…only the top consultant could locate it on the scan. I had no symptoms of an ectopic at all. Just a gut feeling something was not right after a history of miscarriages I just knew. Sorry it’s such a difficult time 😞 xx

TheShellBeach · 24/12/2023 22:01

I'm really sorry OP but it does sound like an ectopic.

Muffin4455 · 24/12/2023 22:03

So sorry to hear that...really a tough phase isn't it. I am hoping there is descent window to rush to A&E if things get worse when the symptoms starts..

I think it varies, my ectopic was clearly visible in my tube on my first scan at 7+2. I guess they're easier to spot the further on they are.

Hopefully your next scan will locate the pregnancy OP but as someone who lost a tube (mine ruptured at 7+3 and was removed at 7+4) I would be inclined to take the methotrexate if recommended to.

Muffin4455 · 25/12/2023 19:43

@DemelzaRobins so sorry to hear that!
I think I will go with Methotrexate option. HCG nearly 10000 today but nothing on scan today also!

If it is ectopic and they need to remove your tube then don't panic. I had my tube removed in August and was pregnant again in October (early miscarriage) and now pregnant straight off that again from November, so it clearly doesn't have to affect fertility.

Muffin4455 · 26/12/2023 18:30

Hi just to keep posted, they found the pregnancy today and unfortunately in the left tube:( they have removed this afternoon and now going through recovery...

Guys btw how long did it take for you to recover after tube was removed?

Iamverysilly · 26/12/2023 20:39

Oh so sorry to hear this. Recovery was pretty quick. A few days of doing not very much, pretty much back to normal after a couple of weeks. Sending you lots of love.

I'm so sorry this was the result. Did they manage to remove it keyhole or did you have a full c-section type cut (sorry I can't remember the names mine was 14 years ago) I had the full C-section cut and it took me a good few weeks to feel better. I believe keyhole should be much shorter.

Rest up and take care

Muffin4455 · 27/12/2023 17:21

@hartof hey its 4 cuts on the stomach... it was laparoscopy.
