Hi, can anyone help I'm so tired all the time. Is there anything I can take or do to help? I'm pregnant (need to get the test which tells you how long tomorrow as not sure). But I'm constantly tired😴. Thanks in advance

1st trimester tiredness was significant for me. Worst in week 10, over by week 14, didn't kick in again til later 3rd trimester.

You're growing a human. It's your body's way of making sure you're looking after yourself.

Thank you, is it best just to nap when I feel tired? Sorry if seems silly question I'm new to this. Can't really speak to anyone else about this but you guys on here at the moment

As a pp said, first trimester tiredness can be pretty bad. I spent the majority of my first trimester sleeping or resting as I’d be completely wiped out from working.
It should ease up but go easy on yourself, you’re growing a little human.
Have you contacted your midwife yet? I found that my iron levels were very low so went on iron tablets which made a big difference fo me.

I literally only found out today that I'm pregnant, i don't know how all this works to be honest. First time pregnancy, do I contact doctors for midwife? I know I need to book doctors appointment. But didn't know if they do it through them? Sorry if it silly question as I say previously new to all this.

@Jeyla1230 not a silly question at all! With my first pregnancy, I phoned my gp who said I self refer and gave me the number. It was an automated service when I left my details and someone phoned me back to arrange a booking appointment.

Everywhere is different though, some places you need to see or speak to the gp first so definitely no harm in contacting your gp and checking in with them about the next steps.

Thank you so much, you've been very helpful! Sorry for the late reply. I fell asleep on the sofa. Definitely bed now, I will definitely do that. I'm so nervous and scared about all this not going to lie.

@Jeyla1230 not a problem! It’s only natural to be nervous so enjoy the moment and try rest and relax over Christmas.
Im now nearing my second trimester and have hit the insomnia stage so enjoy the constant sleeping just now 😂

junebirthdaygirl · 24/12/2023 03:07

There is a tiredness that comes with early pregnancy that's like no other. I used to feel l was waking up from a coma. Listen to your body especially over the Christmas season as you may have time off. The tiredness doesn't persist so take care of yourself as much as you can.

Jeyla1230 · 24/12/2023 09:10

Oh no way hope your insomnia doesn't last for too long!

I agree I literally constantly feel so tired doesn't matter how much sleep I have. 😴 I am now off till Tuesday so I will definitely be listening to mu body.
