Successful sweep?

So at lunch time yesterday I had a sweep and was 1cm dilated but cervix was quite far back and long. All of yesterday afternoon I had period like pains, back pain, bloody mucus like discharge and loose stools.
Then last night when I went to bed the pain died down slightly and I slept fine (or as well as you can at 40w+4 😅)
This morning I’m not as uncomfortable as yesterday but the period pains seem to be starting again and I am still loosing bits of my mucus plug. Could this be the start of early labour or am I just uncomfortable due to the sweep?
I know everyone is different but just wanted to know what everyone else’s experiences have been

When I had a sweep at 40+3, they didn’t say how dilated I was but did say my cervix was favourable and they didn’t expect it to be long until I went into labour. However I had similar to you, spotting following the sweep and losing my mucus plug the next day. Two days after the sweep, at 40+5, I started with very mild period type pains on and off and later on that day DC was born, so it definitely sounds like what you’re going through could be the start of labour. I didn’t experience loose stools beforehand but I know that is also very common shortly before. Good luck and fingers crossed for you that things get moving soon!

My labour started with period type pains and diarrhoea. Sounds like things might be starting.

Could be the start of early labour - I lost my plug a couple of days before my contractions started (around mid week) and was in full blown labour by the Friday evening xx

@DuploTrain @OopsieeDaisy thanks both for the reassurance. Cramps seemed to slow down this morning in the bath but have since had another bloody show (bigger than before) and cramping again so just going to choose a netflix series and get moving on the exercise ball to try and get things moving 🤞
