Hi all, im 7 + 1 weeks pregnant. Its all been going fine till yesterday. I went to the bathroom to do a quick and easy number 2 and i noticed some v light almost opaque brown spotting. Super light. Then nothing all day today. And the same happened this eve. My boobs are still sore. Smells are still offensive. I gagged in a shop today. So all my other signs are still there. I popped a progesterone pill just incase. I suppose my question is can it be from baby growing? I feel pressure down there and im experiencing gas but other than that everythings fine. Im away visiting family so wont dare go for a scan as I dont want to ruin Christmas for everyone. Need a little reassurance to calm down.

I had an MC in February but there was spotting from the beginning and throughout the 9 weeks. So its diff to this one.

I wouldn’t have thought it will be anything to worry about, especially if it’s brown. If you’re really worried you could call EPAU in the morning. I had this + bright red bleeding throughout early pregnancy and now 16 weeks - at 8 week scan I just had a bit of a haematoma that had all cleared up at the 12 week scan.

I had some random brown spotting around the same time. I panicked and paid for a private scan. All was fine and the rest of the pregnancy was OK. Try not to worry! 💐

@Parvule thank you! Oh that sounded scary. Glad it all worked out. Im an 8 hour flight from home and dont want to cause any worry to my family. I know unless we scan we wont know but im terrified to do that without being with my husband. Hes is another country for rn. 😅

@Serene135 thank you! Its so easy to panic, its just a dicey time. I guess what will be will be so as everyone says just relax 😌

Although you can't tell without a scan my midwife told me brown spotting and discharge is very common and completely normal. I have had it on and off from 8 weeks and am now 14 weeks all is fine. If you have severe cramping and/or bright red blood then that can be cause for concern but brown blood is generally just old stuff that is being secreted due to things stretching and moving about.

I had spotting at a similar time with both pregnancies. First time was brown and I was told it was implantation. Second pregnancy it was red and I was told it was due to cervical erosion. Both times they said not to worry unless in a lot of pain or it turned to heavy bleeding. You could call the EPU to put your mind at rest though.

Yes, I had 3 separate incidences of it in early pregnancy and my lovely boy has just turned one.
