Hey all.

My second pregnancy and wow the nausea and sickness has got me good this time. I’ve been off work due to constant nausea and vomiting (about 3 x daily). I’m trying to eat little and often but I can’t stomach anything, I feel so guilty for my lack of fruit and veg , GP has prescribed cyclizine which isn’t helping. I am managing to keep around 60% of food and fluids down. Any tips would be extremely grateful, I had zero symptoms with my first pregnancy.

Katie x

B6 is really helping me, I have been feeling so awful, I was sick with my first but this has been something else.

Had cyclizine and the next drug GPs offer (sorry can't remember name and not at home) nothing touched the sides

Read a lot re B6 including threads on here you can search for, found on NHS websites (not the main one but some Trusts individually) and mentioned to my midwife and she was supportive

Taking 25mg in the morning and 50mg at night and I missed one last week and felt awful.

Obvs I am not a doctor but just wanted to share as pregnancy sickness is just so dire

Go back to your dr if the meds aren’t helping, they can give you something stronger

no amount of ginger tea and plain biscuits will make up for good drugs!

Thank you @Alwaystired2023 I’ll look into some B6. I feel like I’m deficient in something due to the lack of veggies x

Yes I will do @ShirleyPhallus that’s good that there’s stronger meds out there thank you x

Hi in my last pregnancy I had hyperemesis and was constantly nauseas but not vomiting. I tried cyclazine and that didn’t work so they prescribed prochlorperazine. Took 2 days to kick in but my life was finally normal again. Hope you feel better soon x

I’m sorry that you are dealing with this! I had it all 3 pregnancies and was absolutely miserable.

Unfortunately in the olden days, there wasn’t any medicine, but here in the US they now prescribe Ondansetron, and the young women I know who’ve taken it say it was a life saver. Ask your doctor if that’s an option.

I did my best with salty crackers, real lemonade and sipping coke sometimes. TBH nothing really helped.
