Implantation bleeding or miscarriage?? 😢

Yesterday morning I took a clear blue test and got a positive result that said I was 1-2 weeks ( must be 2 by my dates). Yesterday evening I started bleeding. It stated as pink now, but it’s been bright red ever since late last night. There’s blood each time I wipe and I’ve even had to wear a pad today and it’s light/medium bleeding. I’ve now just also lost some clots. I’m really concerned that I might be having a miscarriage 😭 and I’d love to hear/ see everyone’s experience with implantation bleeding and how heavy it was/ colour etc and Early miscarriage stories to either confirm this or put my mind at ease. Obviously I’m not going to be able to retest to confirm either way for I’d guess 2-3 weeks 😔 so it’s just a waiting game. But it’s been like this all day today. Sorry if TMI.

Hormone levels return to normal quite rapidly after a miscarriage, especially a very early one. In your shoes I'd be taking another test tomorrow and then again Wednesday.

I'm very sorry if it's ended in miscarriage. Felicity and pregnancy is not for the faint hearted and can end in heart ache.

Hmm one of those clots look a lot like my miscarriage at 14 weeks so can only imagine there would be less to lose at this stage. I'm sorry I don't think it's good news but everyone is different. Definitely test again over the next few days as your hormones wouldn't have been very high yet, so you'd likely see the line getting fainter if it is a miscarriage x

I'm sorry to say that looks like more than implantation bleeding. The half-life of bhcg is a few days IIRC so you may still test positive for a few days. Hope i am wrong OP.

Thanks for your response. Based on my dates I should actually be 4 weeks pregnant so I think with the clear blue test saying 1-2 weeks yesterday then that confirms my fears. Obviously tests don’t pick up much before this so I’m guessing any future tests I take will be negative. 😔

In my experience implantation bleeding was much lighter than this, it was more like the kind of spotting that’s not really worth a pad but too much to ignore. However I do know a friend of mine had quite heavy bleeding with some clots in early pregnancy and when checked her baby/sac was perfectly fine, it was something else which had ruptured as part of the pregnancy, totally harmless for her and baby but just had looked very scary at the time. Fingers crossed something similar for you! X

Sorry to jump on this post so late, could you confirm what happened in the end? I’m having a similar bleed at 5 weeks and wondered if yours was ok?
