Anyone had a 5 week scan and just seen a gestational sac however no embryo. Is this normal?

Previous ectopic pregnancy so I'm so nervous.

When did you guys start seeing the embryo?

Hcg level is at 1133

I had a previous ectopic and one early miscarriage. With this pregnancy I had a scan at 5+3 and saw the gestational sac and yolk sac but no embryo. EPU scanned me again at 7+3 and we saw the baby and the heartbeat.

My understanding was that generally you'd need a scan at at least 6 weeks before you would be likely to see the embryo. As my 5 week scan located the pregnancy they waited until 7 weeks to scan me again to check all was progressing as expected.
