Maternity clothes

Just a bit of a grumble...

When I was pregnant with my daughter in 2019, I found very few shops that stocked maternity clothes. With my current pregnancy, I can't seem to find anywhere!
I know there are a lot of places online that sell maternity clothes, but does anyone else find it so frustrating that there's no option to try on in store?!
I'm pretty self conscious about my figure at the best of times and have always preferred being able to try something on before I buy it.
I know I can always buy online and then return items, but from a cost side of things, it's not always the best option.

Does anyone have a preferred store/ brand that seems 'true to fit' when they have bought from it. TIA X

I found this too and ended up getting a few bits online and a few bits from Vinted.

Was surprised even big stores like M&S didn't have them in store. One place I did find good especially for pyjama, nightwear and T-shirts was primark. They were hidden away in a corner but comfiest pyjamas I've ever worn.

But yeah overvall I wish more stores had them to look at rather than just online.

Some of the big H &m stores have maternity clothes in stock. I saw some in Bluewater last time I was there

Yeah it's so frustrating!! Normally when you buy clothes you can be pretty sure what size you are and what style suits you. When your pregnant your body is changing so much it's the one time you could really do with trying stuff on before you buy and you can't.

I have found New Looks stuff is pretty good and also got really comfy Cargo Pants from Boohoo but they are just for wearing at home and think I'll take them for wearing home from hospital.

Yeah it's really frustrating more shops don't have maternity sections actually in store! Literally all my maternity clothes are second hand from Vinted. There have been a couple of things that don't fit but mostly I've got some really lovely stuff, very cheaply. It's usually decent quality too as many people wear it for a few months then get rid.

I had some success with charity shops, a lot of people donate stuff to get rid of it after the baby is born.

So annoying that nowhere has maternity clothes in store I hate this also. I know primark have literally just started doing maternity wear... They don't have a huge range at the moment but they have a few bits!

Also online pretty little thing sizes are great and shein are good too!

The only place I found any maternity clothes in store was at Asda, it needs to be one with a really big George section though.

Or go for the easy option of leggings and oversized shirts a, jumpers and t shirts if your not having much luck

H&M is your friend here with decent pricing compared to seraphine or the likes. Or asos where you will probably some stuff with see through leggings. At the min I'm having the same issues but going oversized with jumpers and tops and maternity leggings.

This is what I did, I have gotten away with wearing my usual clothes. Loose leggings and joggers, I just wear them under the bump and I had a few oversized loose long sleeve tops which I've worn all pregnancy. Bought a couple of second hand serephine dresses from eBay for when I had events to go to. Even when I went into Asda the clothes were things you could buy anywhere, just loose tops etc they did have some maternity over the bump tights and pants that I got.
