Hypertension

I'm 37 weeks. Attended assessment unit x2 with hypertension, no pre-eclampsia. Sent home with some labetolol, not much more of a plan (it was really hectic on the unit and at midnight after hours waiting even to have had my BP done I was ready to go). I've done my BP at home (and dipped my wee!) and it's still a bit high, but before I phone can i check did anyone else in similar get instructions about if they should go back at a certain BP etc?

I'm in a very similar situation!
I went for a growth scan on Thursday and they did my BP as standard and it was really high so was sent to assessment unit to be monitored and it came down after labetalol. They dipped my sample and took bloods and no signs of pre eclampsia. Was told to go back to day assessment on Friday for repeat bloods and sample testing and repeat BP after medication. They haven't really given me much of a plan either. Hoping to get a phone call tomorrow to say results of bloods ect and create a plan with them 🤞

I have been monitoring my BP too - how is yours looking? I know you say its a bit high but how high? X

i'm doing it somewhat obsessively - mainly around the 145/85 mark, a few less than 140s, a couple of over 150s are what have prompted the thread! If i do it after the labetolol dose rather than before then the reading is lower

Ah I see! I've only been on it for 2 days and it does seem to have brought my readings down (I'm like you and monitor a lot now). I've been at 126/68 and 132/75 so mine haven't come down as much as I thought but they are in normal now at least!

What dosage are you on? I'm on 200mg twice a day. Might be worth trying to get hold of your midwife tomorrow and seeing if you need your dosage changing?
