High Ferritin Levels

Hi, I wondered if anyone ever had this issue in their pregnancy. It's my first baby and the anxiety has kicked in right from the start. I was then told my ferritin levels are abnormally high and needed more blood tests and a liver scan etc. It's been over 2 weeks since my blood tests, no news about the results and they said they couldn't see anything obvious during my liver scan. Now iv had two letters through, one for a obstretics and another for a consultant. I'm so anxious now that they've found something, even though if it was serious they would have called me in by now. Did anyone else have this at all and know what I might expect to put my mind at rest? The hospital can't tell me much as they just say its a referral

Hi,

I had an iron infusion in pregnancy, following which my ferritin levels were extremely crazy high. This was never raised as an issue and I now have a healthy baby. I don't think you should worry. And as you say, if it was serious, they have phoned you. I was told not to take any vitamin tablets with iron. Because of that, I took vitawoman chewy tablets as they were the only ones that I could find that didn't contain vitamin A and iron.
