I'm 47 and six days late. Usually very regular. I had a tiny spot of blood on the day I was due. And since then lots of white viscous mucus on wiping and in knickers. Way more than usual. I have had lots of sex from day 20 onwards. Tests negative but one has a blue line. I'm thinking that the levels may not be high enough yet although tests say 99% after period due. Thoughts?!!

If you are six days late then I’d have thought a test would show a positive by now. I know you can buy the early detection tests that are really sensitive, I’d perhaps try one of those.
I really hope you get the result you want! Good luck.

You say one test has a blue line, is that the line that comes up as standard or a faint positive?

capricosa · 14/12/2023 19:45

Blue line as in pregnancy window...

So you've had one positive result against how many negative?

I have had lots of sex from day 20 onwards. that would be likely to be after ovulation - how long are your cycles?

capricosa · 14/12/2023 20:04

Really varies - 25-30

Could it be that your having a longer cycle this month and your ovulating now? If not try another pregnancy test in the morning, good luck

I hope you get the result you want! You asked for thoughts so here are mine (as someone who has been ttc for a while):

If you’ve been having lots of sex then maybe the mucous is semen?

As others have said, maybe you’re ovulating later than usual and maybe the discharge was ovulation discharge.

You say your cycle is 25-30 days; this could mean ovulation (and thus implantation) could vary by five days. Maybe try testing again in five days because maybe that’ll be your actual period due date.

Fingers crossed for you. In the nicest possible way, I don’t want to get your hopes up though.

It can happen. Fingers crossed for you, OP xx

Still nothing. Day 38. Had spotting on due day, and yesterday spotting after orgasms. And also the most
immense cervical cramp immediately after... which also not normal... have had sex since then and STILL no period.

Spontaneous conception at 47 would be really unusual. I would repeat the test in a week. Hope it is the result you want

capricosa · 17/12/2023 11:03

I had polyps removed and a partial d&c of adenmyosis area and wondering if that would have made a difference?! I have conceived very easily previously...

The spotting is the odd thing
