Pattern of movements

Do others find baby has a pattern of movements? Ad what does pattern of movements really mean? With my first he never had a pattern, he moved lots but it was all ransom. For example, some days he moved first thing in the morning, other times I'd be up for ages before he moved etc. Some days were generally quieter, some he was more active. I'm finding the same with this second pregnancy and just going into the third trimester now. Just wondered if others have a pattern as such when they can predict baby's movements?

I could have written this post. I am 38 weeks with baby number 3 and baby number 2 was sadly stillborn at 37weeks so you can imagine the wreck I am. Anyway, I have an anterior placenta which doesn't help matters but definitely this baby has not settled into a pattern. I was at hospital yesterday and saw a Dr who I don't have a great relationship with and he said everything in life has a pattern and maybe I just don't understand babys pattern 🙄 very helpful. Anyway, if anything I'd say babys pattern spans 2 days instead of 1 because every other day she seems more active?? I think regardless of pattern if you can lie down for 2hours and can feel 10 definite movements that's apparently quite good gauge.

@BlossomTheUnicorn I'm so sorry to hear about your second baby, I can understand how worried you are.
That sounds like such an unhelpful response from your doctor! I've got an anterior placenta too and movements just seem to vary so much. I went in to triage a couple of weeks ago with reduced movements and had a less than helpful midwife.

I noticed that all four of mine started moving just after lunch and as soon as I sat down in the evening.

My baby moved very sporadically and I didn’t have a set pattern.
i always used to feel him in the morning and different intervals throughout the day but sometimes it was gentle and others a lot of movement.
i worried myself sick about movement in the third trimester and everything was absolutely fine.
i did go to triage twice though as always better to check if concerned x
