Just wondering what is normal.. This is my 3rd baby but the other 2 seem so long ago and I just can't remember being like this.

Baby girl is now 5 days old and I feel like I've been hit by a bus.. My whole body hurts and feels weak and shaky. I'm so exhausted, my boobs are agony and I just can't stop crying.

Partner keeps asking why I'm crying and I just don't know to be honest.. I'm so happy but feel absolutely awful.

Help?! ♥️

Sweetie - your body is in freefall after a huge trauma (delightful one, but a trauma nonetheless) and your hormones are going bonkers...milk coming in etc. I felt like this after all 3 of mine and I'm sitting here remembering it now. Wasn't fun, but does pass, I promise. xxx

Hi @ThirdTimeLucky27

I promise it’ll pass. I had my daughter 6 months ago and remember crying for the first 1-2 weeks for no known reason and remember feeling super low and anxious. I was so grateful to have my baby and so happy she was healthy but remember feeling awful at the same time. I promise it will pass and you’ll almost forget you felt that way. Hormones are still all over the place and I definitely felt better once my body wasn’t so sore and hormones were settling. Congratulations x

I think it is quite normal to be emotional and hormonal. It’s good that you’re keeping an eye on it though.. hope it settles down soon.

I remember being weirdly shaky and absolutely freezing all the time after I’d had my DS too.

I was very anaemic though which probably didn’t help. If you lost some blood it might be worth trying to get your iron levels checked, you might need tablets.

I felt shit afterwards for weeks. Ended up crying for no reason/random reason. Try to get your partner take care of the baby so you get some sleep. And congratulations! 🙂
