Just looking for some stories from people in same boat positive or negative!
So basically a week ago on Sunday I had once instance of light pink discharge, then for next 2 days had nothing then another instance of pink discharge on Wednesday morning. Nothing Thursday or Friday and then some
brown blood on wiping Saturday. Same again on Sunday a bit of darker brown blood. Nothing on a pad just sometimes when wiping.
Went for a scan this morning at epu and they could see a gestational sac measuring 5 weeks 5 days and could see something inside it but very small. She could also see an area of bleeding beside the sac which is where the spotting must be coming from.
anyway just wondering if anyone else has measured a little behind on dates at an early scan and had this bleed beside the sac and everything ok or not?
sorry for long post!!!
i hate early pregnancy!

Hey I had a very similar experience back in the summer. I was referred to the EPU for an early scan at 7 weeks due to a previous late loss. They couldn’t really find anything except for a yolk sac and said everything looked consistent with about 5 weeks. I was convinced I was going to have another miscarriage as the dates didn’t add up. They asked me to return 2 weeks later and in that time I had a heavy bleed. At the next scan even the sonographer prepared me for the worst before she scanned me but we were delighted to see a heartbeat. I am now 23 weeks and everything so far has been great, the baby has even caught up by about a week. The early scans can be anything but reassuring. Try not to stress, which is easier said than done. I posted a similar post back in the summer and had so many people share similar experiences with positive outcomes. Keep us updated 🤞🏻

I had similar with DD2, similar bleeding and scan showed it was coming from right where the egg was implanted, sonographer said it might be washed away! She’s now 12 and I had a straightforward pregnancy after that.

Hi @elmo89. I'm sorry to hear you're going through this. I don't have a positive story to share, but I am in a similar boat. I went to the EPU for an early scan on Friday, due to previous losses and ectopic. I haven't had any bleeding but I am on progesterone suppositories. I was 6 weeks exactly by LMP, and I was tracking periods and ovulation. I ovulate on day 15, and possibly implanted a little later due to a very faint positive (total shadow squinter) at 12dpo. So, perhaps I might've really been a few days earlier than 6 weeks.

Anyway, scan showed only a gestational sac, no yolk, and the sonographer dated it at 5 weeks gestation. I also had a small bleed by the sac that the sonographer said was an implantation bleed. HCG 2200, which correlated to scan findings so that's good apparently, but I have to be rescanned on Friday to determine growth/viability. The waiting and uncertainty is just awful, isn't it? I have a major oral exam later this morning and I can't even think straight. 🙁

Are they going to scan you again? It's still very early days and it sounds like a good sign that they could see something within the sac. ❤

@deliwoman1 o yes it is such an uncertain time and its hard not to constantly google and drive yourself mad!!
yes I have a follow up scan on Friday 22nd so hopefully I will see a wee jellybean with a heartbeat then 🤞🤞 keep me updated how you get on this Friday wishing you luck!
