Good Maternity Shops - London?

Hi there

Can anyone suggest some good maternity shops in/around London that stock nice elegant clothes for weddings e.t.c. I took a look at Isabella Oliver and really liked the look of her stuff but I am a creature of habit and prefer to try things on in shops if possible.

Thanks alot

I think she has a shop in north London, I've been meaning to have a look. I think I came across something when looking at the web, but you caould always call them and ask (hope cottom wool brain isn't make me get this completely wrong). I'm the same - love the catalogue, but like trying stuff on...... They have a 15% discount voucher (on a page advert) in the magazine with katie Holmes on the cover (cotton wool brain hits in) out now.

Other than that, I can't think of anywhere that does nice wedding stuff (am only 18 weeks, so have only been maternity clothes shopping once for casual clothes), but have a wedding to go to when I'm 8 months, so will watch this post with interest.

Thanks pregnancy1, I did ring them and they said they have no shops which is a bummer, but the service seems good with next day delivery and you can return them easy enough too.

Other places I saw were- Veronique Delachaux Maternity in Notting Hill and Seraphine in Hampstead. I am wondering is North London the place to hit for the shops and if there are other ones people have seen that are nice too?

Northcote Road have a couple of shops aswell but, I wanted to get a big list going before i set off on my hunt!

i think there is also a seraphine at the south end of kensington church st which would b closer to notting h and indeed northcote road...haven't been in london for a while so might be worth checking out!

Northcote Road is good. There are quite a few including pretty pregnant where I spent a small fortune . I also really like seraphine.

Def Seraphine- there is one on Ken Church St
Gap sometimes has pretty stuff too
I wore a very stretchy (non maternity)maxi dress to a wedding last summer when 8 months pg. Wouldn't have been seen dead in one normally but actually looked really good.
Isabelle Oliver didn't have a shop last year but maybe they do now? I ordered loads of dresses from them and sent them all back-so many fabric ties it all became too complicated!

I've been very happy with the clothes I've found here. Well worth a trip to Bluewater or West London:

Formes is very good and they have a shop in covent garden and one in town somewhere. Also a website so you can see if it's the sort of thing you're after.

dizzydixies · 15/03/2008 12:52

as long as you're not over a size 14 for formes then wouldn't bother

new look have a maternity range now which is a bit hit and miss - topshop too
