Hi all,

I am 14 weeks and jeans starting to get tight, but haven't quite managed the hugely healthy diet I was planning for. Also stopped exercising my stomach. Is it just one of those things??

Def baby. It's about the right time to start slowly expanding. At 16/17 weeks I had to give up my jeans altogether as they were digging in too much and am now wearing under the bump maternity ones. It's just that annoying few weeks where you just look a bit fat, rather than looking pregnant.

This is the best bit - you can see yourself expand on a weekly basis which means your baby is growing

just getting use to all this pregnancy stuff i guess, it looks like a breeze when other people do it

Will endeavour to remember to do up my button and zip when I get up from the desk!

I'm feeling same as you and I'm only 11 weeks! My guess is the salty food cravings that I've been giving in to don't help - extra calories + water retention!!!

You can get one of those belly band things - saw them on the Topshop website for about £5. They go over the top of your trousers so that you can leave them undone and no one knows. It's always sounded so strange to me, but people absolutely swear by them!

And don't be too hard on yourself, you're making a person in there!!!! (tries to take her own advice! )

Oh, I hope i didn't sound unsympathetic. I went through exactly the same thing for ages and am only now at the stage where I am thrilled as it's startign to be an obvious bump.

I am wearing my bump band from topshop - it's great as it works when you can't do up your trousers (just like a giant alice band for your middle) and it's great when you start wearing maternity jeans to stop you showing your pants when you bend down (prob not what it's designed for!)

Quite looking forward to the new wardrobe as well, even if is all with extra stretch.

Thanks for al your help, feeling a little better about my pot belly.

I've got my jeans held together with a hairband looped through the buttonhole and then over the button - gives a little bit more room and means they don't fall down every time I stand up! Mind you, most of my bump is chub...
