Does anyone know what’s going on with Newcastle birthing centre at the RVI at the minute? I’ve heard it’s closed due to staff shortages but nothing more about if it’s due to reopen etc. so just wondered if anyone knew anything more.
I really wanted to give birth there rather than the delivery suite. I’m not due until March and I had my heart set on a water birth (i know I might not be able to have it for all sorts of reasons but I’d like to try if possible). There’s only one pool room on the delivery suite apparently.
The RVI is closest to me but it’s making me consider my options and maybe going further afield 🤔
