Northampton or MK?

Hello!
Saw a similar post and thought I'd give it a shot for my situation!
Has anybody given birth at either Northampton or MK hospital?

I know each NHS hospital will have their own issues with staffing etc and there will be some positive stories and some negative. Either way, I'd still love to hear!

I had 2 great experiences at Northampton even though DS was a bit of a traumatic birth but the care was fabulous. That was 29 years ago though but hopefully this will bump your post!

Have had two babies at Northampton, one on the Midwife led unit which was great, the most recent one 15 months ago was induction on the labour ward, they were short staffed and there was a lot of waiting around, but also so many other hospitals in the same situation, they were calling as far as Sheffield to try and accommodate more women for induction with no joy. On the flip side every single midwife I had look after me was amazing, and the surgical team on standby when I was in labour also amazing. They were quick to act when needed and got my daughter here safely

@jocktamsonsbairn thank you!
@annlee3817 ahhh that's so lovely to hear! It's the closest one to me but considering their most recent inspection report, I've been put off!
So undecided :(

I gave birth in the MLU at Northampton with both my DC, lovely experience both times (aside from the whole vagina/watermelon conundrum), water birth both times and private room afterwards just because it was available. Lovely midwives. Few years ago now though! No experience of MK.

I've heard good experiences of both hospitals from friends. I think official reports wise, Northampton, MK and Kettering are much of a muchness. Bedford rated slightly better but not sure if you're the right side of Northampton to make that a viable option.
