Hi everyone,

31 weeks with first baby and not sure what to make of this. Had a pretty active day today (strange burst of energy) but as soon as I got in bed this evening I’ve had tightening on and off, back pain and indigestion (discomfort). I’ve changed my sleeping position several times but nothing is helping.

Not sure what else to try and whether or not this is normal Braxton hicks. I’ve been having Braxton hicks since 28 weeks but not as frequently as this evening and not with back pain and indigestion too.

Any thoughts?

Sometimes Braxton hicks can be worse if you’re dehydrated ?have you tried increasing water intake ? I just had my baby girl a few days ago the first day I had alot of tightening sec the second day I knew something was up as the pains got worse and they got closer together , hope this helps xx

I did drink my usual amount of water although I never really drink much water anyway and have been trying to improve.

congratulation! Was your daughter full term when you had her? I’m on 31 weeks which is why I’m worrying. Hoping she stays in as long as possible.

I had loads of Braxton hicks in third trimester, especially in the evening! I went into labour on due date and DD arrived the next morning ☺️ You can definitely tell the difference between BH and contractions - contractions are a lot stronger! If you're worried then always give your maternity unit a ring ❤️

I would deffo give the maternity line a ring, if anything for peace of mind. I went in last night for something similar at 29 weeks (I posted up last night) and it was all ok in the end but I felt so much better for going in and being told that by the midwives and doctor. With you being early as well you don't want to take any chances and give little one the best chance they can get if it is something.
Hope all goes well, please keep us updated x
